Beginners Course
We primarily use a 150 HP Piper Super Cub for our training, but also have a Cessna PPonk 182 on Aerocet Amphibs for those wanting high performance and complex time. Both planes have wing extensions as well as other upgrades. We like to train with 1 to 2 flights a day up to 1.5 hours each, with ground instruction before each flight and a debrief after. We find that if the student can allow 3 days for training with a 4th for the check ride, that they get the most out of the course, as opposed to cramming it all into 2 days.
You need to be current in land planes when you begin your course. Plan on 3 to 4 days to complete the basic seaplane course.
-
Advanced Course
This course includes advanced technics not taught in the basic course, to include up to three hours of flight instruction in high elevation mountain lakes, rivers. The ground portion of the course will cover flight planning with weather and terrain, density altitude, and aircraft performance. This is a great course even for those who want to feel more confident in land planes.
